Former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has bounced back from a big career blow.
After a successful stint with Fulham, Andreas Pereira returned to Brazil last year to sign with Palmeiras.
At the end of last year he was part of Palmeiras’ starting XI that lost the Copa Libertadores Final to his former club Flamengo.
It was a cruel result, with Pereira previously on the Flamengo team that lost South America’s biggest club prize to Palmeiras, his current club.
Pereira has now picked himself up from that personal disappointment and has just delivered one of the best games of his career.

Andreas Pereira’s three-assist game
Andreas Pereira was making his 26th appearance for Palmeiras in a league game against Vitoria. It was just the second game of the new season.
Pereira was the inspiration behind Palmeiras’ 5-1 win, providing three assists in the home victory for his side.
The highlight of the game was Pereira’s backheel assist, showing how his confidence is at a new high. He created five chances in total.

Speaking to reporters after the game, he commented: “It’s very easy to adapt to a big club like Palmeiras; everyone helps, from the coaching staff to the players. Every day I feel better and I’m able to play my football.”
What is remarkable about Pereira’s assists is that he did not provide a single one in his first 24 games for Palmeiras last season.
Now he has four assists in his last two games, recently helping his side to a 2-2 draw with Atletico M-G.
Pereira became the first Palmeiras player since Dudu in 2019 to provide three assists in a single game.

Andreas Pereira’s late push
Andreas Pereira could be making a late push to try and force his way into the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup.
He has 10 caps for his country, last called up by Carlo Ancelotti in September 2025.
ESPN Brazil recently claimed only 11 players are guaranteed spots in the squad for the World Cup, with Carlo Ancelotti keeping an open mind over the rest.
Manchester United stars Casemiro and Matheus Cunha are among the 11.
Pereira is a former Manchester United youth graduate who played 75 games for the club, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
He was moved aside after United signed Bruno Fernandes in 2020.
