David Beckham moved to MLS side LA Galaxy in 2007 after periods at Real Madrid and Man United.
Man United will be fully focused on ending this season in the Champions League places, as manager Michael Carrick has been tasked with getting United back into Europe’s top competition, and he’s doing a good job so far.
Carrick has won three games from three, with the most recent being a 3-2 win against Fulham, in which Casemiro was the star player, scoring and providing an assist for United, and helping them to yet another three points under Carrick.
Casemiro could follow in Beckham’s footsteps
David Beckham spent the first period of his career at Man United, becoming a legend very quickly, and making over 260 Premier League appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson. However, in 2003, Beckham left to join Real Madrid, and then spent a further four years in the Spanish capital.
He then moved to MLS side LA Galaxy in 2007, in what was a blockbuster move for the MLS at the time, and it seems Casemiro could follow a similar path. The 33-year-old has played for Real Madrid and Man United, and reports now claim that he could make his next move to join LA Galaxy.
According to Daily Mail Sport, LA Galaxy are exploring ways to sign Casemiro, despite the fact his wages exceed the MLS’s salary cap at the moment. The US-based league has a ‘designated player’ rule, which was first used when Beckham joined LA Galaxy in 2007.
The rule allows clubs to sign star players whose salaries exceed the salary cap in the league, so a move for Casemiro could be very possible. It is not yet clear whether the midfielder would be open to a move to the US in the summer.
Casemiro hailed as “unbelievable” by Man United star
The 33-year-old has been really impressive in recent games, leading many Man United fans to question whether the club should allow him to leave as a free agent when his contract expires in the summer.
“It is nice to play with him, and it is also nice to listen to his advice. His work rate is unbelievable, and he gives all his teams a boost. We are grateful to have him with us.”
Casemiro has made 23 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
