Nuno Espirito Santo is ‘convinced’ West Ham United will win their relegation scrap with Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers trail both by six points after throwing away a two goal lead to lose 3-2 at Chelsea last time out.

They had, though, won back to back Premier League games against Tottenham and Sunderland and having seemingly been sleepwalking to relegation have at least given themselves a chance.

And even a transfer window that saw Pablo, Taty Castellanos and Adama Traore arrive, was offset by the loss of talisman Lucas Paqueta.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s pivotal trip to Burnley, the Portuguese had a message for Hammers fans and relegation rivals.

“We have to realise that you can have targets but those targets are in other clubs and it’s not only what you want, it’s what the other clubs do also,” he said.

“Our fans must understand the transfer window of January is very difficult to operate it’s more about rebalancing and understanding what we need in the last matches of the season.

“I am totally convinced we are going to be OK, this I can tell to our fans that we are positive, we are working we are committed, we are aware of the situation and the responsibility that is on us.”
