Nathan Jones has provided an injury update on a Charlton Athletic striker ahead of taking on QPR.

Millwall are expected to face renewed transfer interest in star man Femi Azeez come the end of the season, unless Alex Neil achieves promotion to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has caught the attention of Premier League sides thanks to his form this season. Azeez has seven goals in 19 Championship outings so far this term and is the top scorer for the Lions.

Millwall rejected bids from AFC Bournemouth and Ipswich Town for the player ahead of Deadline Day this week with the Cherries reported to have offered around £20 million according to SportsBoom.

Millwall told how to keep Femi Azeez after £20m bid

That would have comfortably been a record sale for Millwall, with the current record set by Romain Esse when moving to Crystal Palace for £14.5 million in January 2025. The Lions fought to keep Azeez as they continue to push for a play-off place.

The outlet carries new reports that summer interest is inevitable and that, while Millwall have managed to keep Azeez for now, the player is expected to leave if the London club do not achieve promotion to the top flight.

Speaking about the transfer interest to Southwark News, Neil said: "What it shows is we recognise how important Femi’s been to our team. Ipswich are one point ahead of us currently. So it’s not as if we’re sitting in 12th, and we need to cash in.

"We’ve had a great season so far, and we’re continuing to have a great season, and I think keeping Femi certainly strengthens our hand. Jimmy (Berylson) deserves huge amounts of credit for sticking to his guns and allowing Femi to stay with us to the end of the season. We’re hoping that that’s going to pay dividends for him, for us, for everybody between now and the end."

Nathan Jones provides Charlton Athletic injury update

QPR supporters do not have far to travel for their away day on Friday evening as Julien Stephan prepares to take his side to Charlton Athletic. The R’s are hoping to build on an impressive 2-1 win over league leaders Coventry City last time out, while Charlton Athletic are buoyed by their own win over Leicester City.

The visitors have their own injury problems going into the weekend, including the continued absence of top scorer Rumarn Burrell. However, Charlton Athletic are also sweating over the fitness of a bagsman.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Nathan Jones gave an update on Miles Leaburn, who went off at half-time against the Foxes. He said: "He fell awkwardly on it, it was nothing serious. He's been in really good form, he looks like a proper number nine now. He has always had special talent, he's a handful, he's more aggressive, the work rate, everything about him, we're really pleased with him.

"It's a race against time for him so we're hoping that he comes through. He's out on the grass today running and everything, so that's hopeful."
