Premier League all-time top-scorer Alan Shearer reckons Manchester United attacker Benjamin Sesko could have a key role to play in the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (February 7).
The Red Devils are on a three-game winning run in the league, beating Manchester City 2-0 at home, leaders Arsenal 3-2 away and Fulham 3-2 at home. Sesko scored a dramatic 94th-minute winner against the Cottagers after coming on with 16 minutes left.
Ahead of the clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford this weekend, Shearer wrote for The Metro that Sesko needs to more to become a regular starter:
"Benjamin Sesko got a big goal last week but hasn’t really started at Man United, he’s been in and out so it’s very similar to Newcastle’s situation with their strikers. He has to show a lot more, but that goal will do his confidence the world of good and he will be hoping he can play a big part again this week."
About the game itself, Shearer predicted a win for the Red Devils, considering Spurs' poor run on the road:
"With Spurs, their away form isn’t too bad. Having said that, Man United are at home and flying. For that reason, I’ll go for a Man United win."
Sesko has six goals and an assist in 21 games across competitions for the Red Devils this season.

Manchester United interim boss Michael Carrick
Manchester United interim boss Michael Carrick
Manchester United are on a roll at the moment, scalping the big-two of Manchester City and Arsenal followed by a last-gasp win over Fulham at Old Trafford last weekend.
However, Michael Carrick's side are winless in six league meetings with Tottenham, losing three, losing this fixture 3-0 at Old Trafford last season. In fact, Spurs are unbeaten in eight games across competitions against United, the second-longest unbeaten run against the Red Devils by any team (Chelsea-12). It includes a 1-0 win in the UEFA Europa League final last season.
United, though, have won all three games under interim boss Michael Carrick and are on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league. They are fourth in the standings after 24 games, 12 behind runaway leaders Arsenal.
