Eddie Howe has been speaking to the media this morning, discussing all things Newcastle United ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Brentford at St James’ Park.
As ever, the key questions centred around injuries and availability, with the boss revealing some good news on Bruno Guimaraes.
The Brazilian trained on Wednesday and ‘felt pretty good’, leaving Howe hopeful that the skipper will be back in the side this weekend after missing our last four games against Aston Villa, PSG, Liverpool and Man City.
It’s good and bad news on Anthony Gordon. It’s not serious injury and he’ll be back ‘pretty soon’, but Howe does not expect the winger to be fit for Saturday, saying there is ‘every chance’ he will miss out.
On Lewis Miley, Howe again states that it’s not a major problem and will find out today whether he has any chance of playing tomorrow, insisting he’ll be back ‘very soon.’

Elsewhere, we remain without Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth, leaving us light at the back once again.
