The latest Wolves transfer news as a Vitor Pereira signing heads out of the exit door.

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Emmanuel Agbadou has arrived in Turkey to complete a permanent transfer to Super Lig giants Besiktas.

Agbadou, who joined Wolves in January 2025 from Stade Reims, is set to depart Molineux following a failed first two-thirds of the season. Agbadou initially impressed last winter following his £16.6. million transfer, however his performances have since dwindled.

The Molineux faithful have been growing all the more frustrated with Agbadou, especially after particularly poor showings against Manchester City, Everton and Fulham so far this campaign. Wolves’ defence has been pretty poor on the whole this term, especially at the start, and Agbadou has been a regular starter throughout.

£17.5m Wolves transfer exit now imminent

Despite Agbadou’s poor form, the Ivory Coast international has consistently attracted transfer interest. Wolves, open to a sale, were contacted by Besiktas at the start of December and negotiations have been on and off ever since.

According to our sister publication, the Express & Star, a deal has now been struck for around £17.5 million, including add-ons that will be achieved by the end of the season. That marks a profit of just under £1 million for Wolves, a result considering just how poor Agbadou has been so far in 2025/26.

To get such a fee is impressive, so kudos to Wolves technical director Matt Jackson for negotiating until Besiktas cracked. It’s a shame it hasn’t worked out as Agbadou was so imperious in his first few months at Wolves, but at least the Old Gold aren’t going to sit on a loss. Instead, it’s a tidy - albeit small - profit to add to the books.

Wolves agree another transfer - as £21.5m deal shifts closer

Agbadou isn’t the only Vitor Pereira signing set to depart Molineux, as £15 million summer addition Jhon Arias is on the verge of completing a move back to Brazil just seven months on from his arrival in England.

The Colombian international joined with plenty of promise after a host of outstanding performances for Fluminense at the FIFA Club World Cup, however it hasn’t worked out. There’s always a chance Arias could eventually settle in England and find his best form, though it’s not looking likely at this point.

TNT Sports BR revealed earlier this week that Palmeiras have seen a bid worth €25 million (£21.5m) accepted by Wolves as they seek to bring the versatile attacking midfielder back to South America. It’s hoped that Arias can regain his form in Brazil after he scored 47 goals and contributed 55 assists in 230 games for Fluminense.

As per the Express & Star, Arias’ exit isn’t yet complete but it’s shifting closer and closer. Fluminense, who have a first refusal clause, could yet match Palmeiras’ bid but there’s not a big rush, as the Brazilian transfer window doesn’t shut until March. Wolves, yet to trigger any of the Arias add-ons, will happily be patient as his sale will bag a profit of around £6.8 million.
