The 19-year-old makes the move from Tottenham following a successful trial period at Gawthorpe.
Egan-Riley, who, like his brother, is also a centre-back, has penned a short-term deal until the end of the season.
“I’m excited to be here because it’s a big club," he told the club’s official website.
“I think this is a great opportunity for me to come and showcase what I can do and everybody around the building has been really nice with me.
“I’ve not played as much football as I would have liked over recent years, so I’m looking forward to testing myself against some of the best players in the country and I can’t wait to get started.”
Born and raised in Manchester, Roman joined Manchester City at the age of five before progressing through the youth system.

Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “Roman has earned a contract with us after impressing on trial.
“His physical profile is fantastic for a centre-back and with continued hard work on and off the pitch we’re confident that he can fulfil his potential here in Lancashire.”

Having helped the Clarets concede just 16 goals all season and keep a record-equalling 30 clean sheets, he then left on a free transfer at the end of the season to join Marseille.
He’s struggled for game time with the French side this season though, making just 12 appearances in all competitions.
