talksport Leeds United
Leeds United were on a great run since December, they turned the corner and racked up important results in their bid for safety. They ended the year outside the relegation zone and were in a good position to start the new year.
The Whites have only lost two games since their run in December, which put them in a great position ahead of the Arsenal game. But the result did not go as expected; they were battered 4-0 at Elland Road. The loss now means that Leeds have to look over their shoulders, with West Ham and Nottingham Forest picking up points in recent weeks.

And in the just ended January transfer window, both sides added key players. This weekend will see Leeds face Forest, and West Ham face Burnley in what could change the standings at the bottom of the table.
Talksport pundit slams Leeds United defender for Arsenal game
The loss to Arsenal could see Daniel Farke shake up the team; the defeat was embarrassing with some players having terrible games. Talksport pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has singled out Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk for Viktor Gyokeres’ goal:
“Hasn’t got the pace, can’t create his own goals. If Gyokeres receives the ball, he’s not gonna take a player on and score a goal.
“I know he scored one of those against Leeds, didn’t he, where he cut in off that left-hand side, but that is Leeds, Championship-level defenders.”
Agbonlahor was right, on the day, there was a lot of poor defending from the Whites. A far cry from how solid they have been in most games at Elland Road in this campaign.

Club should have added reinforcements in January
Leeds have had a very okay season, but defensively, they have been all over the place sometimes. Last Saturday showed how they can be exposed against quality opposition, as Arsenal put them to the sword. The additions of Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw in the summer have helped, but the team still does not have enough at the back.
The 49ers had the perfect chance to add a defender during the January window, but they focused on adding a center forward. But eventually they missed out on Jorgen Strand Larsen, with the team taking a decision to continue the season with their current options.
