Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has confirmed that Ollie Watkins will be fit to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

The striker missed Villa’s 1-0 defeat at Brentford last weekend after suffering a hamstring injury in the first half against RB Salzburg.

January recruit Tammy Abraham started in Watkins’ absence and was denied a goal on his second debut for the club.

Watkins, however, could now return to the starting XI after training normally this week.

Asked if Watkins is available, Emery said: "Yes. He rested last week because he had a small injury and he wasn’t ready to play. He has trained normally and today trained normally too."

Meanwhile, Amadou Onana didn’t come off the bench against Brentford due to muscle fatigue, but will also be fine to feature against the Cherries.

Alysson is not going to travel to Bournemouth despite returning to training to training following an injury issue of his own.

Following their 4-0 win at Villa Park in November, Villa are looking to complete the league double over Bournemouth for the first time.

Andoni Iraola's side, however, have won three of their last four Premier League games, after a run of 11 without a win.

Villa's weekend opponents have also won five of their last seven league games against sides starting the day in the top three of the table.
