Michael Carrick has had an extremely impressive start in his role as Manchester United's interim manager. The English boss has guided the Red Devils to three wins from as many matches and lifted the mood exponentially since replacing Ruben Amorim.
Successes against Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham have had many people questioning whether the retired midfielder could follow in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's footsteps and turn it into a more permanent arrangement. However, it looks unlikely Carrick will be handed the reigns beyond the end of the season, even if he manages to secure Champions League football.

Man Utd Line Up Four World Cup Bosses to Replace Carrick
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti in the technical area
The issue facing Sir Jim Ratcliffe is that the majority of managers he is reportedly lining up for the Old Trafford hot seat are currently preparing to lead out their national teams at the 2026 World Cup. Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti and Julian Nagelsmann of Germany are two of the names the club like.
A manager who has previously held talks with United over the managerial position is England boss Thomas Tuchel. His contract does expire after the tournament, so he will be available this summer if he doesn't extend.

Carrick Not Concerned About Man Utd Uncertainty
Michael Carrick
Carrick has shrugged off any questions about whether he's thinking about a long-term future at the club. The 44-year-old has stressed that he has 'no concerns' and has been enjoying working with the players:
"I've got no concerns. The lads have been better than you can imagine.
"We're all aware of the bigger situation and what might happen but as a player, you focus on what's ahead of you and try to achieve what you can."
The main focus for the Red Devils this season is to finish in the top five places, which are likely to secure Champions League places. United are in a great position currently and have fewer games to play than their closest rivals due to their FA Cup exit and failure to qualify for European football last term.
