A Leeds United star has issued a determined pre-Nottingham Forest message.

Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu has issued a determined message on rectifying mistakes with a difficult admission but Nottingham Forest warning ahead of Friday night’s huge Premier League clash under the Elland Road lights.

Ampadu, though, has warned tonight’s visitors that his men have come a long way as a collective since that defeat, despite admitting that Leeds face a difficult task against a “great team” stacked with good players under boss Sean Dyche.

Leeds are also going into the fixture on the back of a 4-0 defeat from last weekend’s hosting of title-chasing Arsenal but Ampadu says men are determined to right the wrongs from the Gunners loss, spurred on by a “special, special” home crowd.

“Determined to rectify the mistakes from our last match”

Writing in his captain’s column of the match night programme, Ampadu declared: “Tonight, we’re determined to rectify the mistakes from our last match and we want to bounce back and get the three points.

“However, we know that task is going to be difficult to achieve. Nottingham Forest are a great team with many good players and they got the better of us earlier in the season at the City Ground.

“For ourselves, though, I think we have come a such a long way as a collective since that result and hopefully we can show that on the pitch tonight.

“As I’ve said so many times in the past, nights under the floodlights here at Elland Road are what we as players all enjoy the most.

“It’s a special, special atmosphere and it gives us all a massive boost on the pitch.

“We all can’t wait to get out there and feel the noise and the energy.”
