David Moyes drops 'exciting' Tyrique George claim as he shares his best position

Everton manager David Moyes will have been paying close attention to Tyrique George in training this week.

The only winter signing for Everton has now had a few days to get used to his new surroundings ahead of Saturday’s game against Fulham.

George has impressed in Everton training at Finch Farm, with some really encouraging footage being released by the club.

A number of fans will be hoping the positive early signs can lead straight into a debut for George at Craven Cottage.

Questions remain over where the versatile forward may play under Moyes, but the 62-year-old has now shared his thoughts having spent nearly a week with the player.

Where David Moyes expects to play Tyrique George for Everton

In the footage shared by the club, George was playing at left-wing in Everton’s training sessions.

Excitement has grown surrounding the 20-year-old for the fearless nature of his play shown in the footage from Finch Farm.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Moyes has admitted he feels George may be best suited to playing on either side of the wing.

“He can play off the left and off the right. He has played as a centre-forward as well which gives me options if I need it, but predominantly I see him on the left or right,” said Moyes.

“He is quite comfortable on either side.”

It has been suggested that George is keen to impress Everton and earn himself a permanent stay beyond his initial loan.

The exact details of Everton’s buy option in the agreement has not yet been disclosed, though.

Moyes is excited with early sightings of George at Everton

It is not just the Everton fans that are getting excited over what they have seen from George in recent days.

Everton fans just want George to be fearless and showcase what he’s seemingly been doing in training during the upcoming games.

“I think he’s settling in fine. He’s had a few days’ training with us now,” Moyes added.

“He’s an exciting young player, which we hope he’ll be able to show in the coming weeks and months.”

Time is of the essence with George given he is only on loan until the end of the season.

If Everton are going to be convinced to sign him permanently, then Moyes is going to need to play him frequently enough to be able to judge him.
