The Leeds United boss was speaking ahead of kick-off at Elland Road on Friday night.
Daniel Farke wants his Leeds United side to ‘go for it’ against a typically tight Nottingham Forest side.
Farke made just one change from the side that lost 4-0 to Arsenal last weekend and it was enforced, with Anton Stach out due to a hip injury. He was replaced by Noah Okafor in the starting-XI with Brenden Aaronson joining Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev in central midfield.
On-loan Brighton man Facundo Buonanotte was a surprise absence from the matchday squad. The YEP understands his omission is a selection decision from Farke and not related to any injury.
Asked how important it will be to remain calm amid the atmosphere, Farke told Sky Sports: “Fire in the heart is also important. I expect a typical Nottingham side under Sean Dyche, difficult to open up and create chances.
“We need to be patient and not play into their hands but on the other hand, you also want to go for it. We need a good balance between staging calm but being greedy to create chances.
“Apart from the Arsenal game where they were by far the better side, even the games we didn’t win we were not far away. We know we can produce something special in home games. Elland Road is a fortress and hopefully we can show this today.”

Karl Darlow kept his place in goal despite a costly mistake against Arsenal, with the Welshman once again behind a back three of Pascal Struijk, Joe Rodon and James Justin. The latter has recovered from a bruised toe in time to feature, while Jaka Bijol is back from a hamstring injury to take his place on the bench.
Okafor came in to partner Calvert-Lewin upfront against a Forest side missing key centre-back Murillo and suspended left-back Neco Williams. Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson retained their respective places at right and left wing-back.
Lukas Nmecha took his place on the substitute’s bench, having missed two games with a similar issue. Daniel James hasn’t featured since November 29 at Manchester City but returned to the matchday squad, with Buonanotte dropping out as already mentioned.
