Following Luis Guilherme helping his new club reach the Portuguese Cup semi finals with a classy display, Claret & Hugh have asked a top clubs source about the details of any sell-on clause.
Guilherme scored last night for Sporting Lisbon but a club insider insisted that is because he is more suited to the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Responding to whether West Ham have a sell on clause inserted in contract the source answered “There might be something small” before adding “he’s clearly more suited to football in Portugal than the Premier League”
Luis Guilherme was sold to Sporting Lisbon for a £12.1m fixed transfer fee plus up to £2.6m in add-ons.
He was signed from Palmeiras in 2024 for £19.5m plus up to £6m in add-ons. Again, his fee would have been written off over his five-year contract at a maximum of £5.1m per season. With £10.2m already written off and a maximum £15.3m remaining, West Ham could break even if his add-ons are triggered.
