Everton have seen a number of former players shine at new clubs over the years.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has excelled for Leeds since leaving Everton last summer, while Amadou Onana has played UEFA Champions League football with Aston Villa and Alex Iwobi has performed well at Fulham.
The latter – and Yannick Bolasie too – have now responded on Instagram as another former Everton star in Ademola Lookman enjoys a spectacular debut with Atletico Madrid.
Winter window now shut, what striker do you want signed in the summer for Everton? 💥
No excuses can be made when the window opens again 😫

Everton must regret Ademola Lookman sale as Nigeria international steps up for Diego Simeone
Everton offloaded the Nigeria international to RB Leipzig back in July 2019 for a sum of £22.5m – which has turned out to be a bad move.
Lookman went on to win the UEFA Europa League with Atalanta in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
The 28-year-old then sealed a £30.3m move to Atletico Madrid last month after a successful stint in Italy, and it has taken the former Everton man no time whatsoever to make a strong impression.
Lookman scored on his debut and provided an assist for Antoine Griezmann as Atletico Madrid recorded a comprehensive 5-0 win over Real Betis in the Copa del Rey on Thursday evening, a fine display which prompted a barrage of congratulatory messages on Instagram.

What Alex Iwobi and Yannick Bolasie sent to Ademola Lookman
Lookman made just one appearance alongside Bolasie at Everton, but knows Iwobi much better having played 36 games with him for Nigeria.
The pair both sent messages to the new Atletico Madrid No.22 on Instagram after hearing about his debut.
Iwobi applauded Lookman in the form of a clapping emoji – while Bolasie sent a star emoji to emphasise his former teammate’s rise to stardom.
David Moyes could really use a winger like this in his side right now after Jack Grealish was ruled out for the rest of the season.
Everton did manage to sign Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea as a replacement for the England international – including an option to buy as well.
David Moyes has surely got to throw George straight in from the start vs Fulham, hasn’t he!? 🤔

If the 20-year-old goes on to be even half as talented as Lookman, he would prove to be an inspired addition by Everton.
