Morgan Rogers wants to keep ‘attacking on all fronts’ with Aston Villa

Morgan Rogers reflected on the targets that Aston Villa are setting themselves this season.

The Villans suffered from a bad beginning to the campaign, failing to score in their first four Premier League fixtures, winning none of their first five, and bowing out of the Carabao Cup to Brentford.

But they have since shown their spirit and quality, climbing into the top three of the table and earning automatic qualification for the Round of 16 in the Europa League. Rogers has similarly improved his individual form to highlight the skill that saw him pick up PFA Young Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign. The attacker is eager to continue kicking on and see what the future has in store.

“No-one would have predicted this in the time that we’ve done it. You can’t really predict, you can’t really say. I think we’re just enjoying the moment, enjoying the process. We’re focused on what we want to do, achieve, and how we want to improve as a team and get better, and it’s exciting.

“You don’t want to say: you want to do ‘this’, you want to do ‘that’. You want to keep everything open and try and attack it on all fronts and see where it takes us.

“It’s just about performing and delivering and just trying to get better, really. I was really happy with my season last year and how it went, and I just wanted to kick on from that and go again.

“You don’t want to be the player that can just do it for one season and not follow it up, so it was just about making sure I showed it again on the stage again and I got better and improved, and I feel like I have done that.

“I still think there’s a way to go and I’ve got more improvement, which is exciting and something I’m looking forward to, but I’m happy with how things are going at the moment.”
