Dominic Calvert-Lewin praised Leeds United's tactical discipline and maturity after his 10th goal of the season helped secure a crucial 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Elland Road. The win felt significant for everyone at the game, helping move the Whites nine points clear of the relegation zone.
Calvert-Lewin netted the third goal in what he described as an "all-around performance from the team" that saw Daniel Farke's side dominate their fellow relegation battlers and open up a three-point gap over Forest in the Premier League table.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Calvert-Lewin highlighted the team's game management in difficult conditions. "Everything came together, it was an all-around performance from the team," he said.
"I think just good discipline, well-managed in the game, and things obviously went our way on the night. The conditions were difficult, and we knew what they were gonna bring."
The 29-year-old striker, who has now reached double figures for goals this season, emphasised how Leeds had to battle through challenging moments. "You know, we knew we'd have to have our tin hats on at times, and we did, and battled well," he added.
With goals from Jayden Bogle and Noah Okafor earlier in the match, Leeds looked tactically superior from the opening whistle. When asked about the team's tactical edge, Calvert-Lewin credited consistency in approach.
"We've just done today what we've been doing for the past few weeks, just executing our game plan on the ball and off the ball, trying to dominate possession and just manage the game, mature as we go through the season," he explained.

The victory represents a significant moment in Leeds' fight for Premier League survival, with the team now sitting on 29 points from 25 games in 16th place. Calvert-Lewin's goalscoring form has been instrumental, with the former Everton forward finding the net consistently since his summer arrival at Elland Road.
Despite the emphatic nature of the win, the striker was keen to keep feet firmly on the ground. "We're not getting carried away. It's a massive three points for us, but one we can take confidence from," he said.
The result leaves Nottingham Forest in 17th place on 26 points, now looking anxiously over their shoulders as the relegation battle intensifies. For Leeds, the victory provides breathing space and momentum as they look to build on what teammate James Justin described as one of the best performances of the season.
