West Ham’s January window has been a whirlwind.
The Hammers strengthened across the pitch, signing Taty Castellanos, Pablo Felipe, and Adama Traoré to bolster an attack desperate for goals.
On deadline day, Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi arrived on loan to shore up Nuno Espírito Santo’s defence as the club fights to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.
But now a worrying report has emerged regarding the French defender’s fitness.

While Nuno has publicly praised his new signing, insisting Disasi is “in a good place physically” and has “been working hard at Chelsea,” an insider with ties to the Blues has offered a starkly different perspective.
Speaking exclusively to Claret & Hugh, the source said: “Disasi was freely on offer to everyone, but no one wanted him because his fitness levels were so low.
“Clubs that were interested felt he would take four to six full games to get up to the level needed. So in effect, he needs a proper pre-season.”
In short, while West Ham fans may be excited to see their new defensive reinforcement, patience will likely be required.
Disasi could take several weeks before he’s at full match sharpness — a worrying factor for a team battling for survival with little margin for error.
