Manchester United fans wanted star player in lineup

Manchester United fans are surprised to see Benjamin Sesko get benched once again after he scored the winner against Fulham last week. Many believe the striker should have started in today's Premier League game against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Senne Lammens keeps his place in goal, while Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw start as the fullbacks. Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez continue as the center backs, as Michael Carrick opts to keep trust in his star defenders.

Casemiro continues in the pivot, with Kobbie Mainoo helping him out and Bruno Fernandes playing ahead of them in a free role. Amad Diallo and Maetheus Cunha are in the attack role, with Bryan Mbeumo leading the attack as expected.

Manchester United fans are delighted with Carick sticking with his starting XI, but some believe that Sesko should have got the chance today. They posted:

Speaking after the starting XI was announced, Carrick said that he was impressed with Sesko, but wanted to keep his team intact as things were going well for them.

“Ben’s done fantastic and he’s going to be a big player here for a long time and I’ve been really, really impressed with him. What we’ve seen in training as well and his attitude and everything. Everything about him actually is really encouraging. It was a huge moment for him last week and I’m sure he’ll have more of those. And today was just the decision as you’d expect, but, you know, Ben will come on and make a difference again for us.”

Manchester United have won all three matches under Carrick since he was appointed by the club last month.

Manchester United boss comments on picking starting XI

Michael Carrick has admitted that picking the starting XI is the hardest part of his job at the club. He added that keeping all players happy is tough, but they have been dealing with the decisions well and said:

"Picking teams is the hardest part. There’s no getting away from that and deciding on who plays and who doesn’t start. But the pleasing thing, and it’s probably obvious to say in many ways, but the impact that we’ve had as a squad throughout the game, boys starting, boys finishing games, it’s been incredible, to be honest, for that spirit."

"It’s not easy. Sometimes you’re disappointed when you don’t play. But every game we’ve had a real impact finishing the game and whoever’s been on the pitch. And I think that speaks volumes with the boys’ mentality and their attitude that they’ve shown."

Manchester United defeated Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham since the new head coach was appointed following the sacking of Ruben Amorim.
