Tottenam have been handed a fresh injury concern ahead of an important run of fixtures.

Tottenham have been dealt another big injury blow during their Premier League clash with Manchester United. Spurs were dealt a big enough blow on the half-hour mark, or just before it, when Cristian Romero was sent off for leaving a boot on the ankle of Casemiro.

But Thomas Frank was dealt a second blow when a key player was forced off through injury in the second half. Spurs came into this game with some momentum after winning in the Champions League last weekend and following that up with a two-goal comeback draw with Manchester City.

Romero challenged that momentum when he was sent off on the half-hour mark, and Bryan Mbeumo scored shortly after to put the home side ahead, but to Tottenham’s credit, they did manage to stay in the game until Bruno Fernandes scored the game-killing second with 10 minutes remaining.

They were dealt a blow in the 55th minute when Destiny Udogie picked up an injury and had to be forced, with Souza having to come on in his place. That will be a concerning blow for Spurs, whose fixture list gets no easier after this one.

Frank’s men face Newcastle United at home and then Arsenal at home in the North London derby in the two games after this one. Tottenham already have injury issues aplenty, with Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison all out for at least two months, while Ben Davies is out for three after ankle surgery.

Elsewhere, Lucas Bergvall is also out until April, Dejan Kuluisevski still hasn’t returned from his long term injury absence, and Pedro Porro is out until later this month, and he will faces a race against time to make the North London derby.

On the plus side, Djed Spence should be back within the next week, and he could replace Udogie should his absence prove significant.
