Manchester United secured their fourth consecutive Premier League victory for the first time in two years with a commanding 2-0 triumph over 10-man Tottenham at Old Trafford.

The match began evenly balanced, but the momentum dramatically shifted when Cristian Romero received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Casemiro just before the half-hour mark. United capitalised swiftly on their numerical superiority, with an inventive corner routine straight from the training ground culminating in Bryan Mbeumo slotting home from 16 yards after Kobbie Mainoo's clever setup.

United laboured to extend their dominance but sealed the victory when Bruno Fernandes delivered a composed finish from Diogo Dalot's delivery 10 minutes before the final whistle, reports the Manchester Evening News. Here's the player ratings from Old Trafford.

First XI

Senne Lammens: One anxious moment with his distribution in the opening period but remained largely untroubled thereafter as Tottenham failed to threaten with a man down. 6.

Diogo Dalot: Solid strike on target in the second period and lively early on. Occasionally unconvincing at the back in the latter stages but delivered an excellent cross for the second strike. 7.

Harry Maguire: Troubled by Simons briefly in the opening exchanges, and failed to display the composure that has characterised his recent performances. 6.

Lisandro Martinez: Advanced more frequently than usual and distributed effectively, though one dreadful touch in the second period nearly proved costly. 6.

Luke Shaw: Forced a save from Vicario with a second-half attempt. Remained relatively comfortable defensively in what marked his 25th consecutive Premier League appearance. 7.

Casemiro: Wasn't at his sharpest before falling victim to Romero's challenge, but stepped up afterwards and posed a threat in attack once more. 7.

Kobbie Mainoo: Delightful assist for Mbeumo's opener and shone in the middle of the park yet again. Some intelligent combination play with teammates ahead of him and found pockets of space cleverly. 8.

Amad: Showed some promising bursts in the opening period but wasn't quite firing on all cylinders. Failed to capitalise on opportunities to exploit gaps or create havoc when United desperately needed him to step up. 6.

Bruno Fernandes: Got off to a bright start but seemed to force matters increasingly as the match progressed, though typical of the Portuguese to deliver a moment of brilliance to settle any jitters in the closing stages. 8.

Matheus Cunha: Unfortunate not to score with a superb first-half strike. His combination play was outstanding at times but his influence waned somewhat after the interval. 7.

Bryan Mbeumo: Finished his goal superbly, opting for precision over power to beat Vicario and slot home through a packed penalty area. His movement was exceptional throughout. 8.
