Tottenham Hotspur crashed to yet another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, as they were well beaten by Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes gave the home side a comfortable 2-0 win, as the Red Devils cemented their place in the top four, while Spurs now sit just six points above the relegation zone following West Ham's win over Burnley in the 3pm kick-offs.
But while there will be plenty of speculation over the future of the manager following another defeat, it's someone else who the club should have made their mind up on about their future at the club following Saturday's defeat.
Forget Frank: Time for Romero to Go
cristian romero
Cristian Romero has long been considered to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League, but Spurs fans are regularly left feeling let down by the Argentine.
Saturday's lunchtime kick-off was no different, as the club captain was given a straight red card for a reckless and pointless challenge on Casemiro midway through the first-half at Old Trafford, earning him a 3/10 rating from Alasdair Gold. It was the second red card of the season for Romero, who will now miss four games against Newcastle, Fulham, Arsenal, and Crystal Palace, but the fourth time he has been suspended.
While it's clear that Romero cares about the club, judging by his statements about situations off the pitch, as the captain he needs to start turning those emotions into actions, and right now he is doing far more harm than good.
Spurs already have a ridiculous injury list, with 12 players missing from the Man Utd game, and then Frank was also dealt with the blow of Destiny Udogie limping off injured during the game. The last thing the team needs is the captain being absent over something so easily avoidable.
Romero Exit Best for All Parties

Replacing the defensive quality of Romero will be difficult, because he is a top defender and player. But when he is so regularly unavailable, it makes the decision to let him leave far more palatable.
Reports have emerged recently that the former Juventus star will leave this summer amid interest from Spain's top flight, and despite handing him a new contract last summer, it feels like the right decision for everyone involved.
Spurs can get a big fee from someone to take their captain and a world-class player, and they can reinvest the cash to replace him and also bolster other areas of the squad. It's a no-brainer at this point, and while Frank doesn't deserve to be absolved of blame entirely, he isn't being helped by his captain, and that is a situation that must be addressed quickly.
