Four things we learned from Fulham 1-2 as KDH undroppable and Tyrique George's cameo - opinion

Everton’s European football hopes were boosted on Saturday as David Moyes’ side ran out 2-1 winners over Fulham.

For the third Premier League game in a row, Everton came from behind to take points – only this time, it was all three for the Toffees.

Sum that one up for us, Toffees! 🤩

What a second half that was from the Blues 👏

Fulham were much the better side in the first-half, and took the lead with Vitalii Mykolenko putting through his own net rather in unfortunate fashion.

But as we’ve seen in recent weeks, Everton dug in and pulled a result out of the bag.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised for Everton after good work by Mykolenko, and later in the half his corner was turned in by Fulham ‘keeper Bernd Leno.

Here are a few takeaways after a great day at the office for Everton.

Dewsbury-Hall has ‘undroppable’ status now for Everton

Everton missed Dewsbury-Hall greatly when he was out injured.

The Englishman is now back in the picture and already affecting games again for Moyes’ side.

With neither Thierno Barry nor Beto clinical, it is vital that Everton have another source of goals – and Dewsbury-Hall is that source.

He took up a great position to score the equaliser, and then put in a quality delivery from the corner that was awkward for Leno.

Hopefully he can stay fit moving forward.

Did anyone else aside from Dewsbury-Hall impress you? 🤔

Everton’s defence needs Jarrad Brathwaite

Everton got the job done in the end, but it was not a solid defensive performance.

Michael Keane and James Tarkowski both looked shaky throughout, and many still feel Jake O’Brien shouldn’t be shoehorned in at right-back.

Jarrad Branthwaite came on for Everton and made the backline look more assured. He produced five defensive actions in just 13 minutes of time on the pitch.

Tyrique George looks lively

Moyes might have started new signing Tyrique George today, but ultimately stuck with Iliman Ndiaye on the left and Harrison Armstrong on the right.

But we saw George in the second-half, as he replaced Armstrong – and it was a lively showing from the 20-year-old.

Playing mainly from the left side, he completed one of two dribbles and was fairly tidy with the ball, completing 9/11 passes (82%).

The pitchforks were out from some on social media as Fulham led, but Everton turned it round and have taken a big three points.

The result has lifted Everton up to seventh in the table, and the Toffees are six points off fifth, and eight off fourth.

It may well be that Everton come up just short.

But if this squad as a whole can stay fit for the most-part, it will be a close run thing.

Also, if Moyes can fix Everton’s current Hill Dickinson Stadium issue, then that would absolutely huge in the club’s pursuit of European football.
