Crysencio Summerville will take most of the headlines but the story of West Ham United’s recent revival has been built on several pillars.
Indeed, West Ham United have won three of their last four Premier League games as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side begin to fight back in the relegation battle.
On Saturday, West Ham beat Burnley 2-0 to close the gap on Nottingham Forest and top flight safety to just three points.

Summerville scored again to equal Jesse Lingard’s record of bagging in five consecutive games for the club, which was set back in 2021.
The Dutchman is in fine form and if West Ham stay up, it will be partly because of his great form.
However, he’s not the only one playing well and Summerville believes he’s building a fine partnership with Mateus Fernandes.

The midfielder has been another player who has helped Nuno’s side turn things around of late and it was he who teed up Summerville for his goal with a lovely pass in the first half.
Speaking to West Ham’s official website after the game, Summerville claimed he was starting to click with Fernandes.
“I know how dangerous we can be on the counter attack, and me and Matty are clicking a lot now. He knows how to feed me, and it worked well today,” he said.
West Ham fans should be excited about Summerville and Fernandes
The club have certainly made their fair share of missteps in the transfer market over the years.
However, Summerville and Fernandes represent two fine additions.

They are improving while clad in claret and blue and it’s not often one has been able to say that about West Ham signings.
Clearly, they aren’t the only players who have helped turn things around, but it’s difficult to see how the recent run of good form would have happened without them.
West Ham are looking up again and it’s thanks in large part to these two.
