The January 2026 transfer window just ended, but it is never too early to keep one eye peeled on the upcoming summer transfer window, especially since a lot of the moves that were not made and the rumors that were started in the winter tend to carry over into the summer.
Here is a complete look at all the big moves that could be completed in the summer 2026 transfer window around the Premier League. Let’s predict each big name that could move and where they could go.
CM Sandro Tonali from Newcastle to Arsenal
Bruno Guimaraes is the biggest fish on Newcastle United who could potentially move teams this summer 2026 transfer window, but the most likely Newcastle stars to exit are Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
Once one of the finest young center midfielders in European football, the former AC Milan hero has seen his stock fall at Newcastle – and not just for the off the field stuff.
Tonali has been fairly mediocre this season, and he is in need of a change of scenery. There is no team that could give Tonali a better boost than Arsenal in terms of the structure they can provide for midfielders, and his more swashbuckling style in that deep lying playmaker role can help Arsenal.
CB Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool to Real Madrid
The Ibrahima Konate transfer rumors have been revived, and it would honestly be a surprise if he did not end up at Real Madrid, given his interest in joining the biggest club in the world and following in the footsteps of former teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold in desiring that next challenge.
With Marc Guehi and Dayot Upamecano off the table now, Konate is the only top free agent center back available, and he is a tailor made signing for Real to upgrade a position that remains a huge weakness.
LW Jadon Sancho from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund
It makes far too much sense for Jadon Sancho to move back to Borussia Dortmund permanently, and it is about time he reduced his exorbitant wage demands to facilitate a move back to the only club where he’s had real success.
Sancho has been to a Champions League Final and won the DFB Pokal with Dortmund as one of the biggest stars in the Bundesliga, whereas he is one of the worst Manchester United transfers in history and has done zilch for other Premier League clubs.
CM Carlos Baleba from Brighton to Manchester United
Manchester United have a bigger need for a superstar midfielder than any other club in arguably European football, and they have a “Big 3” of targets in Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton.
The most likely of the three to move to Old Trafford is Baleba, who was one of the best players in the entire Premier League last season and exactl the kind of box to box dynamo the Red Devils require.
CM Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City
Manchester United and Manchester City are going to hard after Elliot Anderson this summer transfer window, as the Nottingham Forest star turned out to be the biggest breakout midfielder in the entire Premier League.
He can do a little bit of everything, and while Man United could very well end up with him, Man City are missing one more high impact workhorse midfielder, potentially even as a Mateo Kovacic replacement.
CB Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham Hotspur to Hamburg
Everyone loves to link Bayern Munich to Luka Vuskovic because they are THE team in the Bundesliga, and there are going to be a lot of headlines about those rumors this summer.
But unless if Cristian Romero really does leave, it makes the most sense for Vuskovic to go out on loan again to Hamburg. He has been flourishing there, and one more year of seasoning with the Bundesliga underdogs would do him well.
RB Lutsharel Geertruida from RB Leipzig to Liverpool
The Lutsharel Geertruida transfer to Liverpool ended up collapsing at the last second, but it still makes a ton of sense for the highly athletic defensive right back to make his way to Anfield as support for Jeremie Frimpong.
Another Bundesliga pedigree player, Geertruida is a totally different stylistic player from the explosive and attacking Frimpong, so the two would mesh well very well.
LB Daniel Svensson from Borussia Dortmund to Leeds
Bundesliga players have the athleticism and dynamism to succeed in the Premier League, and standouts at clubs other than Bayern Munich tend to make great, affordable signings for Premier League clubs lower in the table.
Daniel Svensson has been one of the few fullbacks at Dortmund to actually exceed expectations. He is a solid one on one defender, a decent crosser of the ball, and a workhorse with the two way ability to be quite the signing for Leeds.
ST Mohamed Amoura from Wolfsburg to Leeds
Wolfsburg are never serious players in the Bundesliga table, but they tend to produce gem talents like Micky van de Ven and Omar Marmoush in recent years.
Mohamed Amoura is the latest, and he will likely follow in the footsteps of Marmoush as a quality Premier League forward. He has good skill and technique, decent all around ability and finishing chops, and he will likely be available for pennies on the dollar this summer.
CB Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth to Juventus
Marcos Senesi is the best free agent nobody is talking about from the Premier League. He has been tremendous for Bournemouth and a real defensive stalwart both in character as a leader and in performance with his crunching tackles and reading of the game.
Juventus love their old bargain bin free agents, but Senesi is a lot less finished than the others they have signed in the past and can shore up a defense that has talent but is too up and down.
