Anderson felt the problem in training on Tuesday and has subsequently undergone a scan as the Blues’ medical team attempt to clarify the issue.
As a consequence, he was missing from Mousinho’s squad for Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Preston, with new signing Gustavo Caballero replacing the winger as a substitute.
Anderson, who signed for Pompey on an 18-month deal following his mutually-agreed departure last month, has so far totalled just 39 minutes for his new club.
Although, at this stage, Mousinho wasn’t willing to pre-empt the scan results when questioned how bad the injury could be.
He told The News: ‘Keshi is okay, we are waiting on some scan results because he felt his hamstring at the start of the week, in the Tuesday training session.
‘I don’t know how bad it is, I’m not a doctor or physio, I’ll leave it to them. I will let you know when I qualify!’
He was handed a baptism of fire when introduced off the bench for his debut in the 1-1 draw with Southampton at Fratton Park.

The left winger then featured for 20 minutes in the 3-0 victory against West Brom and again caught the eye with energy and work-rate during that time on pitch.
Also presently unavailable are Conor Shaughnessy (hip flexor), Colby Bishop (ankle), Harvey Blair (hip flexor), Mark Kosznovszky (ACL), Hayden Matthews (ankle), Franco Umeh (hamstring), Josh Murphy (foot), Florian Bianchini (knee tendonitis), Thomas Waddingham (groin) and Josh Knight (back).
Anderson had played 68 games in 18 months for Birmingham before his Fratton Park arrival on a free transfer.

Now he becomes the fifth Pompey winger to be sidelined by injury, although sporting director Rich Hughes did add Paraguay attacker Caballero to their ranks on deadline day.
The 24-year-old was introduced in the 79th minute on the right wing in Saturday’s Championship clash at Deepdale, with the hosts running out 1-0 winners through Alfie Define’s first-half header.
Another long-time Blues casualty, Callum Lang, has now joined the Lilywhites, although was not risked on Saturday, thereby being denied the opportunity of an instant reunion with his former club.
