Friday night under the Elland Road floodlights felt like a big night for Leeds United as they beat one of their relegation rivals, brushing Nottingham Forest aside in a convincing 3-1 victory.

The result ensured Leeds moved three points ahead of Forest in the battle towards the bottom of the Premier League table, while also creating a nine-point buffer going into the weekend between themselves and the last relegation place that West Ham occupy.

It wasn't just a big night for Leeds, but also for one player in Noah Okafor, who scored the second goal of the night. The 25-year-old striker had just two goals to his name this season and hadn't scored since an early October home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

While getting back on the scoresheet was important for Okafor, his all-round performance was also impressive in what was arguably his best display yet in a Leeds shirt.

It's a point former Leeds United star Stuart Dallas agrees with, but as the Irishman points out, Leeds need to see more consistency from Okafor.

“He’s had a tough season so far; he definitely has quality, and he’s shown that throughout the season, but he just hasn’t shown it enough," said Dallas. "Hopefully, this is what will kick-start him for the rest of the season.”

Leeds boss Daniel Farke will hope this performances does indeed spark Okafor, with fellow forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin also back on the goal-scoring trail after his goal against Forest.
