Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Chelsea striker Liam Delap.
They were heavily linked with the 22-year-old during his time at Ipswich Town, but the player ended up at Chelsea. The Blues paid £30 million to sign the player, but the move has not worked out for him. He has scored just once in the league, so far.
Liam Delap set for summer exit?
According to a report from Team Talk, the player could be on his way out of Chelsea in the summer, and Manchester United are monitoring his situation. They could look to make a move if Chelsea is prepared to cash in on him. They need to add more quality and depth to the attacking unit, and Delap could be a useful acquisition, especially if he regains his form and confidence.
He was highly rated in the Premier League during his time at Ipswich Town. There is no doubt that he has a lot of potential. The move to Chelsea has not worked out for him, and a fresh start could be ideal. He will be desperate to get his career back on track, and he will look to regain his form and confidence.

Manchester United could provide him with the platform he needs next season. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. Chelsea will be hoping to recoup close to the £30 million they paid for him.
Delap is still a young player, and he has plenty of time to fulfil his potential. Even though his signing could be a gamble, Manchester United would do well to secure his signature. There is significant upside, and he could become a key player for the club with the right guidance. Delap has been hailed as a “top, top player” in the past.
