Move over Calvert-Lewin: "Outstanding" ace looks like Farke's best Leeds signing so far -…

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his excellent form in a Leeds United shirt, with another goal against Nottingham Forest on Friday night.

The former Everton striker has now hit double figures for goals this term, with his strike against the East Midlands outfit sealing the three points at Elland Road and guiding his side to a 3-1 win.

It was a smart finish from the England international, too. Calvert-Lewin made a darting run towards the near post, meeting a cross and deflecting the ball into the back of the net via his chest.

It was a goal which exemplified his confidence at the moment.

His form has been a key reason why Daniel Farke’s side sit comfortably ahead of the relegation zone.

Calvert-Lewin’s underlying stats this season

This season is the first time the Leeds number nine has reached double figures in the Premier League since the 2020/21 campaign, when he bagged 16 goals.

If he’s able to hit that tally again, the Whites’ chances of survival will be greatly increased.

Indeed, Calvert-Lewin has been on a brilliant run of form since the end of November. He’s played 13 times since the 29th of November, when he scored against Manchester City, and has found the back of the net on nine occasions, chipping in with one assist.

He has some standout underlying numbers from his debut Premier League campaign at Elland Road. For example, the number nine has an average expected goals on target tally of 0.53xGOT each game, which puts him in the top 15% of strikers.

Off the ball, he’s performing well, too. The 28-year-old has proven to be a nuisance for defenders, winning an average of 4.04 aerial duels and 1.29 fouls per 90 minutes. His all-around game has been really important for the Whites.

However, he has arguably been outperformed by one of his Leeds teammates, who could be considered Farke’s best signing.

Leeds’ best signing under Farke

It has been quite the season for Calvert-Lewin, and, at the rate he’s going, he could easily enjoy his best goalscoring season in the Premier League.

There is certainly a strong argument to be made that he is Farke’s best signing during his stint at Elland Road.

However, it has been yet another impressive campaign for full-back Jayden Bogle. A key man in their promotion campaign last season, he has once again played a pivotal role this term as they look to survive in the Premier League.

Operating as both a full-back and a wing-back since Farke switched up his system at the end of 2025, the former Sheffield United star has played 23 times in the Premier League.

He’s been productive in the final third, too, chipping in with one goal and two assists, with his strike coming on Friday against Forest.

His ability in the final third was pivotal last season in the second tier, too. The defender grabbed an impressive six goals and five assists, with Leeds the standout attacking side in the 2024/25 Championship. He averaged 15.9 forward passes each game last term, too.

This term, his defensive ability has been truly put to the test, and he’s performed well. Bogle averages 4.7 ball recoveries and 1.2 interceptions per 90 minutes, showing two different sides to his game.

One person who’s been highly complimentary of Bogle is former Manchester United defender turned pundit, Gary Neville.

Of course, he is someone who knows what it takes to be a high-level Premier League right-back, describing the Leeds star as “outstanding.”

When you consider the fact that Bogle cost just £5m, he could surely go down as Farke’s best ever signing as Leeds’ gaffer.

The level of performance he puts in every week, coupled with the consistent availability and the bargain price, means he has arguably been the German’s best signing during his time at Elland Road.
