Jhon Arias still doesn’t have a date to arrive at Palmeiras, despite them finalising a deal with Wolvesfor him this week.
That’s according to journalist Venê Casagrande. He reports that the Brazilian club are still working out the logistics of the winger’s arrival.
Arias’ return to Brazil was confirmed on Saturday, with Palmeiras finalising a €25m deal to sign him from Wolves. It brought an end to a miserable six months at Molineux following a €17m move from Fluminense.
It was hoped that he would bolster Wolves’ forward options, but he instead managed just two goals and one assist in 26 games for the club.
They were seemingly happy to let him go in the January window, particularly for a profit. The Colombian was one of several exits as Wolves reshaped their squad for what appears to be an inevitable relegation back to the Championship.
While the deal has been wrapped up, though, Arias has been left in limbo. Casagrande explains that he is yet to receive a date to arrive in São Paulo. The logistics of his arrival are still being worked on by Palmeiras.
The hope is that Arias can arrive in the middle of next week. And, if things go to plan, he’ll do so in style. Palmeiras want their signing from Wolves to arrive on the private plane belonging to President Leila Pereira. For now, though, Arias has to sit tight and wait.
