Arsenal’s 2026 scholarship intake shaping up well

There are still several months remaining of the academy season but there has already been much planning ahead of the next campaign and what could be a very exciting scholarship intake.

Max Dowman will lead the way, with the prospect having already made five competitive senior appearances despite technically being an U16 player.

This week Arsenal confirmed that four more highly rated players are set to be part of next season’s scholarship intake.

Emerson Nwaneri (the younger brother of Ethan), Kyran Thompson, Mishel Nduka and Angelinou Pedro have all featured for the U21s and U19s already this season.

Nwaneri can play as a midfielder or forward, while Thompson is a versatile attacker, Nduka is a creative midfielder and Pedro is a centre-back.

Yesterday Arsenal announced another member of the intake, with Daniel McCarron to join from Dungannon Swifts in July.

A talented centre-back, McCarron is a Northern Ireland U17 international who has already been called up by his club at senior level, while he has had numerous trials with Arsenal’s academy over the past couple of seasons.

Other players that are in contention to be part of next season’s scholarship intake include Hakeem Abubakar (left-back/winger) Elyon Mbala (left-back), Jayden Oba (forward), Charlie Purdy (midfielder), Theo Odaji-Ukueku (defender/midfielder) and Joshua Sesay (winger).
