Eddie Howe is not under threat of losing his job at Newcastle United following Saturday’s 3-2 home loss to Brentford, journalist Lee Ryder has revealed.
The St James’ Park chiefs are not expected to make any immediate reaction regarding the 48-year-old manager amid the club’s concerning run of results, with no wins in their last four Premier League games.
Newcastle’s hierarchy reportedly view the disappointing season as a ‘shared responsibility’ and have no intention of relieving Howe of his duties.
With the club sitting 12th in the table with 15 games remaining, Howe is facing growing scrutiny from Newcastle supporters, who booed the team off at St James’ Park on Saturday.

According to Ryder, Howe’s position at Newcastle remains secure ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Tottenham, with the club accepting that the 48-year-old manager is not solely responsible for the concerning run of results.
The Magpies would face a huge compensation bill should they decide to sack Howe, and that is something PIF are not looking to exercise at the moment.
Despite the club sitting just 12th in the Premier League, there is a feeling internally that the season can still end on a high, given Newcastle remain in the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Howe’s side will take on Armenian champions Qarabag in a two-legged tie for a place in the last 16, while an FA Cup clash with Aston Villa awaits next Saturday.
When questioned about the heated reaction from fans following Saturday’s defeat, Howe said: "I think if we perform, the crowd will back us and they'll be with us every step of the way.
"I've got no issue with their reaction today. They're reacting to what we deliver, so I don't see that being a problem."
Arsenal Keen on Sandro Tonali

Newcastle could face a difficult task to retain star midfielder Sandro Tonali after the season, with Arsenal keeping close tabs on the Italy international.
Tonali was linked with a surprise switch to the Emirates during the final hours of the January transfer window, when Arsenal explored the midfield market following an injury to Mikel Merino.
According to reports, the Gunners retain interest in Tonali ahead of the market reopening this summer and may move for the midfielder, provided Newcastle soften their stance.
The Magpies are in a strong negotiating position for the 25-year-old, whose contract at St James’ Park runs until June 2029, with the club holding a 12-month extension.
