Supercomputer issues fresh prediction on where Everton will finish after Fulham win

Everton defeated Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

David Moyes was delighted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s performance, as the Everton midfielder inspired the comeback.

Dewsbury-Hall scored the equaliser and then got the assist from Bernd Leno’s own goal, as he whipped in a brilliant corner kick.

What would be your message to Dewsbury-Hall after THAT performance! 👏

The Toffees are now within two points of a European spot, and with that said, the supercomputer has now made a fresh prediction on where they’ll finish this season.

Supercomputer predicts Everton to miss out on top seven finish

Despite Everton residing just two points behind seventh-placed Brentford and sixth-placed Liverpool, Opta’s supercomputer has predicted them to finish five points off the European spots come May.

The software expects Moyes’ side to finish the season on around 53 points, which would leave them in eighth place – exactly where they are right now.

# Team Expected points

1 Arsenal 82.76

2 Man City 71.34

3 Aston Villa 70.11

4 Chelsea 63.92

5 Liverpool 63.11

6 Man Utd 62.96

7 Brentford 58.13

8 Everton 53.69

9 Bournemouth 52.08

10 Newcastle 50.95

That’d certainly be progress from last season’s 13th-placed finish, however, there would be a sense of disappointment around Finch Farm.

How many points are Everton averaging per game?

Well, Everton currently have a points per game average of 1.48, so that would need to improve ever so slightly to get them in contention for a top-seven finish.

At that rate, Moyes’ side are projected to get 56 points, which would have been enough for ninth place last season.

Seventh place got 65 points, although this season it seems like the tally required will be a lot lower, perhaps around the high 50s.

Tyrique George impressed on his Everton debut at Craven Cottage, so perhaps he could inspire a charge for European spots.

Moyes will need some of his summer signings to step up for the remainder of the season, too, most notably the £40m acquisition, Tyler Dibling.
