A supporter who spent over £5,000 on season tickets last summer has been told the ban handed to him for touching a flag criticising West Ham's board is to remain in place.
The supporter was one of three season ticket holders banned for holding aloft an oversized banner imploring the club's main shareholder, chairman David Sullivan, to "sell up" during the recent home match against Sunderland.
And despite having appealed against the decision, the decision to ban him has been upheld - leading to a furious reaction from the accused, who says he will no longer buy any season tickets at West Ham.
"In predictable fashion, my appeal against a 3x home game/10x game ban has been rejected in lieu of me breaching the maximum dimensions allowed for a banner," the supporter wrote on twitter.
"Banned for a breach of health and safety. They confirmed the actual offence in their most recent email. No reason was given, just that it was rejected and I have no further right of appeal.
"So a club run by people of dubious character get to judge what is right and wrong. They took my season ticket money happily and then decided to let me into games as they see fit.
"That is the last season tickets I will ever buy while these owners are in post. There is no way I am handing over five grand next spring to those shysters. They really should not be in any position of power.
"So well done Dave and Karren, that's another four opinionated legacy supporters you have repelled, your plan is getting close to completion."
The supporter confirmed they have been banned from all club premises including Academy matches and stores - and is adamant the ban was due to the nature of the message on the banner, rather than the size of it as intimated by the club in their communications.
"As one of only three people banned, fair to say they cherry picked those who to ban," the supporter, whose name has been withheld, added. "All to show to others that protest, no matter how peaceful and inoffensive, will not be tolerated by these owners.
"Right now I have to say, my enthusiasm for West Ham has gone completely."
