Real Madrid receive offer from Man United for Brazilian star - Its not Vinicius

Vinicius Junior is just one of several Real Madrid players whose futures are uncertain ahead of the summer transfer window. It seems as though the Brazilian winger wants to stay and extend his contract with the La Liga club.

The 25-year-old's current deal expires in 2027 but negotiations over a renewal have yet to reach a positive conclusion. This has seen him linked with a potential move to the Saudi Pro League while Chelsea are reportedly ready to pounce if he becomes available.

Manchester United aren't in the picture for Vinicius but they do hold an interest in one of his teammates. The Red Devils are eager to bring another Brazilian to Old Trafford this summer.

Man United make bid for Madrid star

Madrid might have a decision to make over Eder Militao's future given the 28-year-old has been out of action with a muscle injury. He's been reduced to just 13 La Liga appearances as a result and Los Blancos have felt his absence.

According to Fichajes, United have made a formal offer of €40 million for Militao as the Premier League giants look to add a new center-back to their squad. That might indicate that Harry Maguire's spell with the Reds is over when his contract expires this summer.

The offer hasn't been rejected by Madrid and they are aware that if they accept it this will free up salary space and allow them to make future signings. The Brazil international is reportedly the club's 10th-highest earner, earning € 280,385 per week (via Capology).

United's bid is thought to have been enough to at least warrant an internal discussion about a potential sale. The club are taking the sporting and financial implications of a potential deal under consideration.

Militao has been at the Bernabeu since the summer of 2019 and been one of the most reliable defenders since his arrival. He will have two years left on his contract in June.

Madrid shouldn't accept United's offer

Militao might very well be a potential candidate to be sold this summer to allow Madrid to rebuild a squad that needs to move on from the Carlo Ancelotti era. But the price that United have supposedly put on the table isn't enough for a player of the Brazilian's caliber.

Unless the Premier League club are prepared to go higher it shouldn't be an offer that takes too long to turn down. Several other experienced members of Los Blancos' defense could depart this summer which means whoever is in charge might want to rely on Militao's years of service.
