AFC Bournemouth Women Secure Place in the Cup Final

AFC Bournemouth Women reached the FA WNL Cup Final, Fulham and Peterborough United went top of Division 1 tables.

The Cherries will face Plymouth Argyle in the League Cup Final at Loftus Road Stadium on 28 March, after goals by Georgia Wilson and Jenna Markham secured victory at West Brom.

Burnley lead the Northern Premier by four points but have played two more games than Wolves, after scoring seven at Loughborough. Dolcie O’Connor scored Halifax’s decider as they won at basement side Sporting Khalsa to move six points clear of danger.

Flo Fyfe’s late brace saw Watford see off Oxford United by the odd goal in seven and go four points clear in the Southern Premier, as Gwalia held Plymouth 0-0. Lewes and Exeter City both hit six, with Sophie Gillies scoring four for the latter.

Leeds United drew at Cheadle to move within a point of Division One North leaders Wythenshawe, with a game still in hand.

Peterborough United’s win over Sutton Coldfield put them top of Division One Midlands with two games in hand, as Boldmere – whose head coach, Karl Henry, was red-carded – slipped up against Northampton Town and Kidderminster also boosted their survival hopes with a victory.

Fulham came away from Norwich City with a 3-2 win to replace them at the top of Division One South East with a game still in hand. Hannah Mackenzie scored the crucial third goal on her debut. Chesham United’s first win of the season was a 2-1 victory away at AFC Sudbury in the basement battle.

Moneyfields narrowly beat Portishead to stay top of Division One South West, as Swindon Town remained on their heels with a win at Ascot.
