Wolves, West Brom and Birmingham City still have the chance to bring in some new faces
The January transfer window shut last Monday on 7pm. Nevertheless, clubs still have the chance to sign players who are free agents. There remains plenty of individuals without a team at this moment in time.
Free agents defenders still available for Wolves, West Brom and Birmingham City
Former Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has recently become available following his exit from CFR Cluj in Romania. He is now weighing up his options in the game. The centre-back is an option for the likes of Wolves, West Brom and Birmingham if they need defensive reinforcements.
Brandon Williams has cut ties with Hull City and is considering his next move. The full-back linked up with the Tigers last summer but only played once for their first-team. He is unattached again now and will be eager to get back into the game as soon as possible.
Elsewhere, Craig Dawson left Wolves at the end of the last campaign and still hasn’t secured a new home. He is a vastly experienced operator in the game and would be a shrewd pick-up by someone. Other players on the market for nothing right now are Serge Aurier, Juan Bernat, Jason Denayer and Daniel Amartey.

Raheem Sterling has quit Chelsea recently and needs to fix himself up a new home. It would be a surprise to see him drop into the Football League for West Brom or Birmingham. However, he may be a realistic target for Wolves as they could offer him regular minutes as he looks to get his career back on track.
The Blues’ boss Liam Rosenior said last week: "He (Sterling) is a magnificent guy and player. There are a lot of positive things going on the background that I have nothing to do with. I wish Raheem and his family all the best."
Other wingers worth a look are Zymer Bytyqi and Ryan Kent. The latter has spent recent times in both Turkey and America with Fenerbahce and Seattle Sounders respectively. He has now departed the MLS and could be a decent pick-up by someone.
Big names like Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli remain on the market, as well as Michail Antonio. The trio could all do with finding new teams as soon as possible. The longer players stay out of the game, the harder it is to get back in and fulfil their potential.
Tiemoue Bakayoko is in the same boat as well, as well as European players like Amine Bassi and Jayden Braaf who are more cut price options. Alex Pritchard, who has had a stint at Birmingham in the past, has recently left Sivasspor in Turkey. He has also had spells at Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City and Huddersfield Town.
