Will poor referee decisions continue to haunt West Ham vs Manchester United?

**The officials for the fixture of West Ham against Manchester United have been announced ahead of yet another crucial game for the Hammers.**

A crucial part of the game for a vital match, the referee has been announced and Simon Hooper will be in charge on the pitch for the game that kicks off at 20:15 at the London Stadium.

Simon Hooper recently took charge of the fixture, which likely still haunts Hammers to this day of the dreaded match against Brighton back in December, where Rutter scored one of the most blatant goals that should’ve been disallowed for handball but wasn’t, which cost West Ham a crucial 2 points.

It was a game of dreadful decisions, 20 fouls across the match and both sides appeared unhappy, but Brighton got the better end of the stick considering the last-minute decision that went their way.

But to make matters worse, Simon Hooper’s assistant on that day was Adrian Holmes… and against Manchester United it’s the same! It’s got dread written all over it.

Fortunately, the Hammers have been spared, as the VAR is not the same person who reviewed the Rutter incident and this time it is Craig Pawson. Pawson has yet to be on VAR for West Ham this season and has only refereed one game for the Hammers this campaign, which was against Nottingham Forest in our 3-0 victory.

Hopefully, we can have a clean, smooth-running game against Manchester United but something suggests to me that won’t happen and that it will, in fact, be a chaotic affair between the two sides under the lights, a side that is fighting tooth and nail against relegation, meanwhile, the other in dreamland chasing second.

Given how superior the Premier League officials are, I highly believe that any dodgy-handball calls will be handled with great efficiency but perhaps that won’t be the case. The Brighton game tells you all that you need to know!
