Mikel Arteta's side are back in action on Tuesday

Arsenal are one step closer to the Premier League title as they held onto their six point lead at the summit of the Premier League table over the weekend.

Mikel Arteta's side brushed aside Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, thanks to goals from Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres. However, it's not all good news for Arteta, with injuries piling up for the Gunners.

They might be hoping Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard could return for their potential banana skin clash with Brentford on Tuesday evening. And Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the latest news from north London.

Saka season took a knock last month when he was forced to pull out of the starting line-up against Leeds, with his place going to Noni Madueke. And he was absent against the Black Cats.

However, Arteta is hoping to have him back soon, explaining: "[Saka’s] hip is getting much better...Hopefully, very soon he will be with us.” However, some reports have his return date as the north London derby.

Martin Odegaard is expected to be back in the starting side for Tuesday after he sat out the game on Saturday.

Arsenal almost stole the show on Transfer Deadline Day when they launched an 11th hour assault for Newcastle's Sandro Tonali.

Tonali's agent subsequently shot down those rumours but has since opened the door to a summer move, and it is understood the playmaker is keen to play Champions League football again next season.

However, they look set to face competition from Manchester United, with The Telegraph reporting that Tonali is on the Red Devils' shortlist alongside Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton as they plan a midfield revamp.

Newcastle would stand to make a significant profit on the £55million sum they paid to bring Tonali to St James' Park from AC Milan in the summer of 2023.
