Setting the scene

This was a crucial game in the championship for both sides vying for play off spots in the league this season for promotion to the premier league.

First Half

Wolves start the game aggressively with dominant exchanges and causing the home side problems.

Wolves take the lead in the game in the 9th minute when Blake latched onto a pass from Irwin scoring from 10 yards out such a great start for the away side.

Then Wolves grab a second goal of the game when Cameron advanced through the midfield and slotted the ball past Ward in the Forest goal who left exposed to double lead and put Wolves in control of the game.

Forest started to come into the game after these setbacks having chances of their own and just before half time, they did get a goal back when Reid cut in from the left and delivered a pass to Johnson who beats the offside trap and bury the ball past Murray in the Wolves goal who was advancing to halve the deficit and give the home side hope in the game.

Second Half

Second half starts with Wolves making a change in the team with Edworthy on for Irwin with Forest continuing to press for the equaliser in the game.

Forest almost got an equaliser in the game on the hour mark when Reid hit his shot through a crowded penalty area narrowly fired wide of the mark.

Lescott was having a good game for Wolves stopping Forest attacks at the goal and even denied Johnson in the penalty area.

Then the Forest equaliser came from an unlikely source in the way of Dawson who rose the highest to head home a goal from a free kick from Scimeca with Murray not claiming ball from pressure from Forest players to claim his fifth goal of the season.

Wolves introduce Ndah to try and get a winner in the game with Forest holding firm and setting for the draw.

Setting the scene

Wolves are looking to extend their lead in the league with a view of promotion to the premier league and Nottingham Forest looking for back-to-back wins.

First Half

Wolves started the game stronger out of the two teams keeping the ball moving it quickly and making Forest to chase.

Then Wolves took the lead in the game when Kennedy delivered a lovely cross from the left-hand side to Sturridge from close range scored his 21st goal of the season which is a milestone for him for a deserved lead in the game after the good start made.

Forest is struggling with the press of the Wolves side where they are still creating good chances in the game with Ward keeping out a close-range header from Butler along with tipping a fierce shot by Blake around the post in a brilliant save.

The home team Forest is struggling to create clear cut chances in the game but remain in the contest despite been down by a goal at half time.

Second Half

The home side started the better in this half of football looking the team to score the equaliser to get back into the game.

Forest stunned Wolves with a good passage of play for the equaliser with Harewood starting the move who then passed it to Lester and then played a good ball to Gray who arrived late to slot past Oakes in the Wolves goal and we are back to a level game.

But Wolves quickly turned it around by retaking the lead in the game when Blake was the provider with a lovely cross into the box to find Lescott heading home from close range in front of the travelling Wolves supporters with Kennedy & Blake both involved in the build-up.

Forest did not dwell on this setback in the game they kept on the pressure in this game and got another equaliser themselves after Lescott had blocked a close-range effort from Gray the ball fell to Louis-Jean on the right hand side crossed it for Harewood to score from inside the area after Forest had appealed for a handball in the build up but the goal stood and the home fans celebrated.

Both teams now starting to play looking for the winner made Subsitutes to change outcome and Wolves were so close to a winner they deserved get when Andrews had a direct header saved by Ward.

The game was so open for both sides where headers cleared off the line, Blake guilty of missing chances but the scoreline remained level but Wolves kept possession and tempo.

Conclusion

This match highlighted the promotion push Wolves were on but also showed the problem when a counterattack play comes, they concede a goal and win was there for the taking.

Forest got a hard thought point against the lead leaders with fighting spirit after a challenging season they have had.
