This is beyond embarrassing, this Sandro Tonali nonsense.
One thing for sure, we will have to get used to it.
Monday morning seeing a media ‘exclusive’ on Sandro Tonali.
Talksport running this rubbish headline: ‘Newcastle set Sandro Tonali asking price as three Premier League clubs to battle Serie A giants in summer war’
So these jokers actually claiming this as an ‘exclusive’ on the Newcastle United midfielder.
The question then is, what is this ‘asking price’ that they have exclusively discovered?
In the article, Talksport stating that their ‘exclusive’ information is that ‘The Magpies are believed to value Tonali between £80m and £100m.’
This tells us two things
Newcastle United have NOT set an asking price for Sandro Tonali.
Even if they had/have set one, Talksport don’t have a clue what it is.
And another thing
This kind of made up nonsense just gets worse, as they go on to declare: ‘Sandro Tonali would be keen on a return to Italy, Talksport understands’
Does anybody honestly believe that Talksport have any exclusive information at all on Sandro Tonali?
You know fine well that they don’t have a clue of what the Italy international intends to do, the same with the media organisation when it comes to Newcastle United. Absolutely no idea on what is happening with our club.
The Italian media have been claiming Sandro Tonali wants to go back to Serie A pretty much every day since he moved to Newcastle United nearly three years ago. It doesn’t mean they know anything at all, the media in Italy simply keep putting this story up because they know they will get attention and it is something Italian football fans are desperate for. They don’t want one of their very best young homegrown products playing in the Premier League.
In these make it up as you go along transfer stories, you invariably find that they list as many clubs as possible, to attract as many clicks as they can from the various fanbases.
In this Talksport nonsense they go on to state: ‘The Newcastle midfielder is set to be at the centre of a summer transfer war with Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City all monitoring his availability. Juventus are also interested in Tonali and sources have indicated the ex-AC Milan star is open to going back to Serie A.’
So that clears that one up then!
Claim in the headline that you know the asking price for a top player, only for those who then read the actual article, discover that you actually don’t have a clue. Then just list a number of random major clubs who could potentially afford him and could potentially be interested in such a player.
The first of many media ‘exclusives’ on Sandro Tonali no doubt…
