Pictures show an increased police presence in the city as the Seagull host their rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday, February 8.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated that the increased presence is ‘to ensure that everyone attending the football match or watching it at venues in the city has a safe and enjoyable experience.’
The spokesperson added: “A Public Space Protection Order is in place for Brighton city centre, and fans attending are advised that alcohol outside of licensed premises, including from bottles and cans, can be seized and removed by officers.
“There is likely be congestion and disruption to travel into the city, particularly near Brighton station.
"Residents and visitors using public transport or the road network are advised to allow extra travel time and to check updates with transport providers.”
