"It's no conspiracy" - Fresh doubt over key Chelsea man for Leeds United visit with Cole Palmer …

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has provided his Blues team news for Tuesday night’s visit of Leeds United.

Boss Liam Rosenior has provided his Chelsea team news for Tuesday night’s visit of Leeds United with fresh doubts over a key man.

Chelsea club captain Reece James was a doubt for Saturday's Premier League clash at Wolves having suffered a knock and the full-back failed to make the matchday squad.

A first-half Cole Palmer hat-trick gave the Blues a 3-1 success but Chelsea appeared to be dealt a new injury in the closing stages as Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos suffered a blow to his ankle before being taken off with six minutes left.

Rosenior, though, gave no mention of an injury to Santos in his post-match press conference and also indicated that James was “so close” to being involved.

The Blues boss said at the time that he was hopeful James would be fit for Tuesday night’s visit of Leeds but Rosenior has now revealed that James is unwell, casting fresh doubt as to his participation.

Speaking at Monday’s pre-match press conference and as quoted by football.london, Rosenior said: “Reece is fit. He is feeling unwell today. It's no conspiracy, it's the truth. Hopefully he'll be well enough for tomorrow.”

The Blues boss also provided an update on the importance of Saturday’s hat-trick hero Palmer whose game time has been managed recently due to an injury.

Rosenior said of Palmer: “Any world-class player is important in what we want to achieve. It was great to see him bang in the goals on Saturday and hopefully that form continues. He’s fit for tomorrow.”
