Everton showing serious interest in signing Bournemouth star this summer - journalist

Everton are already making plans for the summer just days after the winter transfer window slammed shut.

It emerged over the weekend that Everton are lining up a move for Liam Delap, who has struggled at Chelsea this season.

Delap held talks with the Toffees last year, so clearly David Moyes is a big admirer of the England under-21 international.

Now, there is a fresh rumour emerging linking Everton to a Premier League centre-back who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Everton eyeing summer move for Marcos Senesi

Everton will need to recruit another centre-back in the summer, as Michael Keane is due to leave on a free transfer.

The Toffees are already making plans for his potential departure, as according to journalist Mirko Di Natale, they’re in the running to sign Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi.

Senesi is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, although there is a lot of stiff competition for his signature.

Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Brighton are among Premier League clubs keeping tabs on his situation, whilst Serie A duo Juventus and Roma are also mooted as possible destinations.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are in the mix, too, so clearly Everton will have a tough time fending off interest for Senesi.

Andoni Iraola hopeful Marcos Senesi will sign new contract

Speaking in December, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola admitted he’s hopeful Senesi will stay on the South Coast.

“Definitely I’d like him to renew, but I think there is still seven months and for sure he and the club will take a decision,” the Spaniard stated.

“But I’m very happy, for me, the most important thing is he’s performing very well and I hope we can keep him there and he decides after the season also to stay with us.”

At the moment, Bournemouth are languishing in the bottom half of the table, so it seems unlikely Senesi will stay, especially with European suitors lurking.

The Toffees are aiming for Europe this season, so if they achieve that, it’ll certainly give them a boost in the race.
