David Moyes believes there is even more to come from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall even though the summer signing has already delivered on the promises he made ahead of his move to Everton. Dewsbury-Hall played a crucial role in helping the Blues come from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday.

The midfielder scored one and forced a freak Bernd Leno own goal in front of England manager Thomas Tuchel. Dewsbury-Hall now has five goals and four assists to his name so far this season, but Moyes believes there is even more to come from the 27-year-old as he strives to get back to the levels he showed before he picked up a hamstring injury.

He said: "Absolutely [he's reached my expectations]. He said he would score me goals, so we've certainly not been disappointed with him. We've been so, so pleased with him.

"He was a huge miss for us in December and January. I hope he keeps doing it. I think he's still got a little bit to do to get to where he was [before the injury]. But he's picked himself up well, and he's going well."

A win at home to Bournemouth on Tuesday night would take the Blues into sixth on 40 points and bring the prospect of a return to Europe for the first time since 2017-18 closer to reality.

It is a far cry from the position Everton have found themselves in in recent years when they have been battling to avoid relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.

But Moyes believes: "This club should never have been in that position. It is too big, too strong of a club.

“We should be talking about the other end of the league. I'm now thinking we have to keep growing and getting away from the feeling of being a club at the bottom."

Asked about the prospect of Europe, Moyes said: "We don't really say too much. I'd rather the talk be about European places and not relegation places.

“Probably the history of the club recently has been relegation places. I think we would all quite enjoy that talk about European places.

“At the moment we have a long way to go, but if you hang in with the teams above us, you just never know."

Saturday’s win over Fulham means the Blues have now amassed 21 points away from home this season, but they have struggled at home.

And Moyes knows his side have to pick up more wins at home, having not earned three points in a game at Hill Dickinson Stadium since December 6.

"We have got to try to turn our away form into good home form,” he said. “We have done a good job, we just need to make sure we can pick up another few wins at our stadium.

“We are always looking to see what it may well be. We have a great new stadium; the sooner we start getting used to it, the better. Everybody enjoys it, we do, but maybe the opposition quite like it as well."
