'Very good': Shearer names Everton ace in Team of the Week but Dewsbury-Hall snubbed despite…

Everton secured three huge points against Fulham, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall playing a crucial role in the comeback win.

The Toffees moved up to eighth in the Premier League table with the victory, beating Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage in another great away day for the club.

Vitalii Mykolenko turned into his own net to give Fulham the lead, before the hosts then had a flurry of chances.

But thankfully, Everton managed to stay in the game, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall then scored and assisted in the second-half to turn the game on its head.

The plaudits have been coming thick and fast for Dewsbury-Hall since the game.

But he didn’t quite do enough to make Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week.

It was a clutch performance from Dewsbury-Hall against Fulham.

Once again, he got on the ball between the lines for Everton and sought to cause real damage.

And he did that, arriving into the box to convert Mykolenko’s ball across. He then took a whipped corner that Bernd Leno failed to deal with.

He turned the game on its head and was a huge reason for Everton getting three points.

But Shearer did not include him in his latest Team of the Week. But he did choose Jordan Pickford, saying: “Made two or three really good saves to help Everton win at Fulham.”

Pickford was extremely unfortunate that his save hit Mykolenko and went in.

But it was indeed another solid showing from the Everton number one, who continues to keep his side in games.

There will be several factors that determine whether Everton get European football come the end of the season.

And one will be the form of Pickford.

It has been yet another wonderful season from the England star, with only David Raya and Robert Sanchez keeping more clean sheets in the league thus far.

He was his usual solid self against Fulham and David Moyes needs him to stay in this kind of form for as long as possible.

Because the second he drops off, Everton will be in trouble, with the defence having been bailed out by him in several games this season.
