The Premier League match officials have been appointed for Newcastle United’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.
The Magpies have lost each of their last three games in the Premier League, dropping to 12th in the table. Eddie Howe’s side are now as close to the relegation zone as they are the top five (10 points) with 13 games left to play.
They will be looking for their third away win of the season against a struggling Spurs side who finished 17th last season and currently sit 15th in the table. Thomas Frank’s side are yet to win in seven Premier League matches since the turn of the year, with their last home win in the league coming over two months ago.
It’s shaping up to be a vital game for both sides as they look to finally address their faltering league form. And the Premier League have confirmed the key match official appointments for the clash.

Premier League confirm match official appointments for Spurs v Newcastle
Anthony Taylor has been appointed as referee for Newcastle’s clash at Spurs. Taylor will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn with Gavin Ward as fourth official.
Nick Hopton will be on VAR duty for the match, assisted by Stuart Attwell.
Anthony Taylor controversy for NUFC
It’s the first match Taylor has refereed involving Newcastle since the 1-0 defeat at Manchester United on Boxing Day.
The match was subject to some controversy with Newcastle appealing for a penalty as Man United defender Lisandro Martinez handled the ball inside the area. Taylor waved away the appeals and a VAR check upheld the on-field decision
Discussing the incident after the match, Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe said: “I appealed like everybody else. I thought I saw an arm, but I haven't seen it again. So, I've got no idea if it was close or not.”
The decision didn’t go down well with the travelling Newcastle supporters at Old Trafford, who chanted: “Anthony Taylor, we know where you’re from.”
Taylor is from Wythenshawe in Greater Manchester, approximately seven miles from Manchester United’s home stadium.
