Journalist | West Ham’s next debutant will be in the squad v Manchester United

With a squad of just 23, West Ham United will look a little threadbare with the ‘injuries’ described but not identified by Nuno Espírito Santo in the pre match press conference yesterday. Choosing to keep his cards close to his chest ahead of the crucial home fixture, Nuno admitted that ‘some wouldn’t make it‘ leaving the fanbase on tenterhooks.

Linked in with Venezuelan soccer journalist Elias López’ comments on X/twitter, it could well be that if he’s correct, West Ham’s next likely debutant is about to take his place on the bench for the London Stadium encounter tonight:

“Kieber Lamadrid will be in then West Ham squad to take on Manchester United in the Premier League”

Having impressed in his 45 minute u21’s outing last week, the young winger may yet get to play a part, especially if Nuno’s prime pairing of Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville are (heaven forbid) amongst those injured ahead of the next round in the Hammers’ remaining 13 game relegation derby.

Lamadrid scored on debut for the ‘development squad’ and whilst he is still in pre-season mode could arguably reprise his predecessor Luis Guilherme’s role and make an appearance for a late cameo.

Lack of squad depth could well work to the Venezuelan prospect’s advantage as the lack of an alternative to the cumbersome Adama Traore might well see the fleet of foot youngster get a dream debut later tonight

Certainly if the journalist is correct, he’ll be on the bench and just one step away.
