Chris Sutton makes 'left-field' prediction as Everton seek Hill Dickinson win vs Bournemouth

Everton take on Bournemouth tonight in the Premier League – and it’s another good chance to pick up points for the Toffees.

Everton recorded a fine win over Fulham at the weekend, coming from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

It was only the second away comeback win for Everton in the Premier League in the last three seasons, and it now puts the club in a great position in terms of a push for European football.

Victory tonight against Bournemouth would move Everton up to sixth in the table, so the incentive is well and truly there.

But we’ve all seen how Everton have stuttered at the Hill Dickinson Stadium recently.

And with that in mind, pundit Chris Sutton has now given his prediction.

Everton are in a run of five games unbeaten now, which is really promising.

The return of key players has really helped David Moyes, and the hope now is that Everton can sort themselves out at home.

The last win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium came on December 6 against Nottingham Forest, so it will be important not to let this winless run go on for too much longer.

For Chris Sutton though, it will.

Predicting a 2-1 win for Bournemouth, he told BBC Sport: “Everton did well to fight back to beat Fulham late on at the weekend, but they could have been more than just a goal down at the break, while Bournemouth were unlucky only to draw with Aston Villa. They peppered Villa’s goal with shots.

“I am going to go a bit left-field here because although Everton beat Bournemouth earlier in the season, it was only thanks to a late deflected effort by Jack Grealish.

“I usually back Everton at home, and I’m usually wrong… so I am going to do something different this time. I am backing Bournemouth to pinch it.

Everton need to beat Bournemouth

Bournemouth have picked up their form recently, but this is still a golden opportunity for Everton.

And it’s one they must take, before this winless run at the Hill Dickinson Stadium starts to become a psychological issue.

Moyes admitted the opposition may like playing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium at the moment, so the players – and also the fans – need to ensure the environment is as uncomfortable as possible for the visiting team.

With the added incentive of leapfrogging Liverpool in the Premier League table, Everton must seize the opportunity they have tonight.
